Murky Saturday

I get very little time to indulge in my photographic pursuits due  to my endless days of penal servitude as an unpaid overworked  House Elf a.k.a House Husband. As Saturday dawned with very heavy overcast skies I decided that after feeding the horde of hungry Wildebeest, myself, the birds and finally  her indoors I would do a bit of photographing before vacuuming, etc, etc, etc. Due to the said murky and at times rainy conditions I resorted to using a flash. That’s why the backgrounds are so dark. The usual backyard birds showed up and for your viewing pleasure here’s a selection that I processed.

When I retired I imagined myself sitting on a tropical beach sipping Mohito’s and  photographing Red-billed Tropicbirds and Fairy Terns flying overhead. Sadly reality is the odd day here and there at the reserves on the New Jersey or Delaware coast. I had planned on taking her indoors out for the day on Sunday to Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge (Brigantine) and Barnegat Lighthouse State Park for the Harlequins.  The weather forecast earlier in the week indicated mostly sunny weather and SW winds of 10-20mph. This mornings forecast is freezing temperatures overnight, 25-35mph winds with gusts of 50mph. It will be colder than a witches tit so forget it. No romantic walk hand in hand along the beach for me tomorrow.
