Harlequin’s anyone?

This time of year I read the weather forecast for Barnegat Lighthouse waiting for favorable conditions for the 3 hour trip out there to walk the Jetty of Doom. Thursday the 8th of February certainly looked promising with low wind speeds and quite warm temperatures and plenty of sunlight. So out the door at 5AM heading East to the New Jersey coast and the very tip of Long Beach Island

The Jetty of Doom

The attraction of the jetty at Barnegat is the sea duck that winter in the inlet and backbay in particular the Harlequins. I call it the jetty of doom because it’s rather dangerous. I saw a lady fall but was OK, another bloke carrying long lens on a tripod over his shoulder slipped but recovered. That would have been expensive. I carry my camera and lens in the backpack until I get settled in one spot. Here’s a few shots from yesterday.
